I received an ARC of this in return for an honest review.

OK CJ. is new to me and I know this is book 2 and Bailey and Talon are mentioned in this book, I don't think at all that reading #2 first is going to matter too much. This can pretty much be read as a standalone.

So I actually quickly fell into Ava and Dec's story. I loved the fact that Ava knew what she was capable off, she's feisty without being overly, she thoughtful beyond anything you can imagine, she's sacrificed her younger years without batting an eyelid and although she's struggling financially she thankful for everything she's got. She's also got a deep seated need to be independant and be able to provide for herself and Harper and this is the crux of the story really. She learned from an early age that nobody ever sticks around so she does her utmost to protect herself.

Along comes Declan, and jeepers is the personality that drips off the pages for Declan hot or what! He perseveres and wears Ava down and then your reading along waiting for the upset and it isn't too long before it hits.

Now this is not a fast paced action packed story, but it's emotionally charged. It's literally all about overcoming beliefs that are instilled in you and letting go and trusting that this will be a 'forever' and this one is here to stay.

A lovely read, that was indeed sexy, had great characters, a gorgeous Harper and quite deep and meaningful. I really enjoyed this book and will definitely look out for CJ.'s books from now on.
